People with failing teeth or ongoing dental issues can avoid endless dental problems and repairs and have new teeth and a new smile in just a single visit. You’ll look and feel younger and, once your implants have healed, you’ll be able to eat whatever you want!
Same-Day Smiles is also a popular option for denture-wearers who are frustrated with loose dentures, adhesives and having to remove their teeth at night.

She is a Fellow of the Institute for Oral Implantology and has completed extensive advanced training in full-mouth reconstruction. What is Same-Day Implant Smiles?
Same-Day Smiles is Dr. Pournik’s full-mouth implant teeth replacement procedure that allows you to leave with a fixed set of teeth the same day, in the upper or lower arch, or both. She typically places around six implants per arch, depending on your bone and what will create the most stable result.
Using 3D imaging and digital planning, Dr. Pournik identifies the strongest areas of your existing bone and places the implants accordingly. This approach allows implants to be placed without grafting beforehand. For even greater stability, Dr. Pournik places a bone graft at each tooth extraction point to prevent bone shrinkage.
During the procedure, any remaining teeth are removed, implants are placed, and a fixed temporary set of teeth designed for you is attached, so you can leave with a functional, natural-looking smile. After the implants have healed, integrated with the bone, Dr. Pournik creates your final teeth from zirconia or high-grade resin depending on your case and your preference.
Benefits of Same-Day Smiles
“I’m so happy. I’ve never had a straight bite, I’ve never had white teeth. I’ve always felt like I had a gray smile.”
— Julie, Same-Day Smiles patient

If you have multiple missing teeth or are wearing dentures, your jawbone doesn’t have sufficient stimulation and can be absorbed back into your body. The result is a gradual wearing away of the lower bone structure of your face, and a prematurely aged look. Same-Day Smiles gives you strong teeth and prevents bone loss.

Who is a Candidate for Same-Day Smiles?
Dr. Pournik recommends Same-Day Smiles for patients who have broken-down teeth, advanced decay, multiple missing teeth or loose dentures. Most patients with medical conditions qualify, but she evaluates patients with diabetes, inflammation and if they smoke to assess overall healing capacity.
There are cases in which Dr. Pournik does not recommend Same-Day Smiles. If your bone is very soft or limited, then she will generally recommend bone grafting first to build bone volume and density. Waiting a few weeks in these cases often creates stronger, longer-lasting results.
Heavy clenchers and grinders run the risk of breaking their new teeth, so she often will modify their plan to give them temporary dentures while the implants heal.

Our High-Tech Same-Day Smiles Process: What to Expect

1. Advanced 3D Planning
Your treatment begins with detailed 3D CBCT imaging and digital scans. Dr. Pournik evaluates your bone, bite and overall structure, then plans the exact position of each implant before any procedure begins.

2. Customized Treatment Design
Every case is designed around your specific anatomy and goals. Dr. Pournik determines the type of implants, the number of implants and the best approach for your long-term result. In some cases, she might advise a staged process instead of a one-day process, if that will give stronger, longer-lasting results.

3. Implant Placement
On the day of your procedure, implants are placed using surgical guides in the areas of strongest bone, based on your digital plan.

4. Same-Day Teeth
A fixed set of temporary teeth is placed on the same day, so you can leave with a functional smile. Heavy biters might need a denture instead to protect the implants while they are healing.

5. Healing & Integration
Over the next few months, the implants will integrate with your bone to create a strong foundation. During this time, your temporary teeth allow you to maintain your appearance and function.

6. Final Teeth
Once healing is complete, your final teeth are designed and placed. Dr. Pournik carefully plans how your teeth come together to ensure proper bite, comfort and long-term durability, working with high-quality labs to achieve a natural-looking result.
We Ensure You’re Comfortable
We use IV sedation so that you are deeply relaxed during the procedure. We maintain a calm, unrushed environment, only seeing one patient at a time.
Dr. Pournik’s careful surgical planning and use of surgical guides reduce trauma and post-treatment discomfort. We also provide post-op instructions and follow up with you regularly.

Same-Day Implant Smiles Options
Dr. Pournik provides several same-day teeth replacement options with dental implants. She will guide you to the best solution for you based on your dental situation and your desired budget.

Fixed Teeth Acrylic
Fixed teeth using a durable acrylic material and 5 implants per upper or lower arch.
This is the most affordable option at around $18,000 per arch and provides a functional, aesthetic result.

Durable, Repairable Fixed Teeth
A reinforced design using high-grade resin layered teeth and a titanium sub-structure, supported by 6 implants, built for strength and long-term use. This option is more forgiving under high bite forces.
The layered design allows individual areas to be repaired without remaking the entire set.

Premium Zirconia Fixed Teeth
A full set of teeth made from solid zirconia, supported by 6 or more implants. This material is very strong and designed for long-term durability, while providing a highly aesthetic, natural-looking result.
Dr. Pournik usually recommends zirconia fixed teeth as a one-day solution for patients with adequate bone volume and good bite conditions.

Segmented Zirconia Fixed Teeth
This option uses three separate bridges supported by six implants, rather than one continuous set of teeth. This can help preserve more of your natural bone and allow the teeth to follow your natural gum line.
Because the teeth are divided into sections, individual areas can be repaired or replaced if needed, rather than redoing the entire set.
Dr. Pournik typically recommends this approach for patients with good bone who want a more conservative treatment and natural-looking teeth with easier long-term maintenance.

Most Natural-Looking Fixed Teeth
This creates the most natural-looking result, where the teeth appear to come directly from your own gums, similar to natural teeth. There is no added gum material — the goal is to recreate a natural smile as closely as possible.
To achieve this, Dr. Pournik carefully works with your existing bone and gum structure to design a result that looks and feels as natural as possible.
This option is best for patients who want the most natural appearance possible and still have good bone and gum support.
